"Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart" Confuscius

The Eiffel tower, Champes Elysee, Sacre Couere, Arc de Triomphe, Moulin Rouge, Montmartre, Rive Gauche .... the architecture that surrounds you in Paris is truely amasing.

And art galleries? The Louvre, Muse d'Orsay, Orangerie, Pompidu centre ... there are enough galleries in Paris to fuel a lifetime of exploration.

I could spend weeks of my life in the Muse d'Orsay surrounded by my favourite impressionist paintings, including Monet's eponymous Impression, Sunrise.

The Muse d'Orangery is a hidden gem. In his will Monet left a "bouquet of flowers" to the nation and, after he died, the doors were opened on two oval rooms filled with waterlillies. You can read about Monet's waterlillies, you can look at pictures in books, you can even go and see the countless studies hung in galleries around the world, but nothing will prepare you for the experience of being surrounded by the murals of Monet's garden.

Montmartre still plays host to today's budding artists sitting in the sunshine vying for custom amongst tourists who want their portrate painted. When I sat drawing the church in the square a German tourist even offered to buy my sketches.

Paris is my second home and one day I will have a flat nestled amongst the steps, cafes and artists in Montemartre.
